cars. now tell me-do you really care what you drive?
i have a few stipulations:
**i'd really rather it not have rust holes in the back seat like my bug did (it would be such a bummer if i lost one of my kids on the way to the store!)
**please, no transmission problems like in my olds that i had to start it 5th period so i could drive it home
**a radio is nice~i have recurring memories (nightmares!) of me singing in my TC3-i had no radio because it got ripped off (at calvin college no less!!)
**i'd like it to go over 60 unlike my hyundai
**i can do without the stick from my vega too
but other than that, i'm not really hard to please. my suburban is a 2004 and as far as i'm concerned it's just getting broken in...90,000 miles? no problem-it's merely a babe.
HOWEVER
lately my kids and my hubby think i really should be considering a new car. c'mon! wanna know what the kids would like me to drive? audi R8 spyder convertible. mustang shelby Gt500(yes, with the hideous stripes down the front middle). BMW Z4 Sdrive35IS-this baby has 335 horsepower~not to mention it STARTS at $61,000. yes, my friends sixty one THOUSAND dollars. i must say it's a pretty 'sweet' car but it's SO NOT happening!! a little ostentatious wouldn't ya say? (os·ten·ta·tious-adjective. Definition: rich and showy: marked by a vulgar display of wealth and success designed to impress people.) vulgar display-my thoughts exactly.
so tell me...what do you think?
am i crazy? (remember this IS my blog so you can't actually call me crazy here), or just lovin' my big truck?
GET A NEW CAR.
ReplyDeletekeep the 'truck'!
ReplyDeletei'm with you. my 'truck' has 106,000 miles on it and i don't care. i would drive (and probably will) this forever!! would i like a new car? ya,maybe but i'd pick the same one. just new AND with the built in t.v. option for all the big trips we take to town. :)
i love it that you remember all those little things about your old cars. i have to say, your bug, ya know the one with the holes in the floor was awesome!! remember when the front seat was out (WHO the heck knows WHY)??? you were SO cool in that car. pos that it was. if you need to ask what pos is, ask. :)
love u sis.
Hmmmmm A suburban? We are having another kid. . .Are you giving it away Gary wants to know? :)
ReplyDeleteThen again, our Sienna needs to last us at least another 7 or 8 years.
Love you!
shanda
hi girl! i actually have 2 people who want to buy it...sorry, gar ;)
ReplyDeletea van is great when your kids are little but when they get bigger (with longer legs) you've gotta try one of these babies~it's the most amazing vehicle i've ever had. will probably get another one next time (sorry kids!)
love you too!!
